Een ontdekking van een Italiaanse dokter.
Een [B]100%[/B] diagnostische score (alle onderzochte mensen met MS bleken deze afwijking te hebben en niemand van de mensen zonder MS)
De theorie is gebaseerd op het feit dat vernauwingen van drainage-aders 'jugular veins' in de hals en de 'azygos' langs de wervelkolom chronische problemen veroorzaken bij de afvoer van bloed vanuit het CZS.
[COLOR="Blue"][B]Deze verstoorde/vertraagde bloedafvoer zou kunnen leiden tot:[/B][/COLOR]
[B]1)[/B] Onvoldoende toevoer van zuurstof en/of glucose naar het CZS met mogelijke celdood (myeline en/of oligodendrocytes) tot gevolg. De secundaire AI-reacties zouden dan betrekking hebben op het 'opruimen' van reeds afgestorven cellen.
[B]2)[/B] Beschadigingen aan de bloed-hersen barriëre als gevolg van
a) Chronisch onvoldoende bloeddoorstroming in de aderen (shear) van de bloed-hersen-barriëre waardoor de aderwand verzwakt. (2009 Dr. Simka et al)
b) Virale of bacteriele infecties in de aderwand.
c) Lokaal hogere bloeddruk in de aderen wegens vertraagde afvoer.
[B]3)[/B] Ophoping van (toxische) ijzerdepots in het CZS welke middels 'micro bleedings' (zie 2) daar terecht komen, gecentreerd rond de aderen van de bloed-hersen-berriëre. Als gevolg hiervan zal het AI-systeem geactiveerd worden.
[B]4)[/B] De aanmaak van aBC proteïnes ter bescherming van de onder 'stress' verkerende oligodendrocytes (myeline aanmakende cellen) in het CZS. Gebleken is dat veel mensen intolerant zijn geworden voor dit lichaamseigen proteïne als gevolg van onvoldoende eigen aanmaak en dus blootstelling in de vroege levensjaren. Deze intolerantie leidt tot ontstekingsreacties in het CZS.
[COLOR="Blue"][B]CCSVI is geen kant-en-klare oplossing voor alle vormen en stadia van MS.[/B][/COLOR]
De ingreep bestaat veelal uit angioplastiek van de halsaderen (jugular veins) en/of borstader (azygos) dat veelal onder locale verdoving, roesje of korte narcose wordt uitgevoerd.
Via een kleine incisie in de lies worden via een catheter vernauwde aderen met een ballon opgerekt. In sommige gevallen wordt een parmanente stent achtergelaten om de ader open te houden.
De ervaring leert dat in geval van 'restenosis' (het wederom onstaan van een obstructie in de ader) deze angioplastiek herhaald moet worden.
Patiënten die de zgn. 'liberation treatment' hebben ondergaan en waarbij CCSVI is verholpen, melden uiteenlopende resultaten van geen verandering tot aanzienlijke verbetering van symptomen.
Als CCSVI een belangrijke factor is bij het ontstaan van MS zal MS niet vanzelfsprekend verdwijnen. De ontstane schade aan het CZS zal blijven, waarna het lichaam zelf in staat moet kunnen zijn deze te herstellen. Of hier sprake van kan zijn en in welke mate, is afhankelijk van een ieders fysieke situatie.

CCSVI behandelingen worden in NL nog niet uitgevoerd, mensen laten zich in het buitenland behandelen (Belgie, Duitsland en Polen)
De operatie wordt veelal niet vergoed door verzekeraars. Dat is mede te wijten aan het feit dat CCSVI in NL nog niet geaccepteerd als aandoening in relatie tot MS. De reguliere specialisten wachten daarbij op gedegen wetenschappelijk onderzoek.

Ik heb gisteren de topics CCSVI-4 en -5 doorgenomen om te kijken of er nog links tussen staan die ik wil bewaren. Ik ben daarbij heel veel verslagen van behandelingen en updates van de situatie na de behandeling tegen gekomen.
Zelf vind ik het zo zonde dat het allemaal verloren gaat. Ik ben daarom een [URL="http://www.msweb.nl/forum/showthread.php?t=28697"][U]nieuw topic[/U][/URL] begonnen met CCSVI behandel-verslagen en updates. Zo'n topic blijft langer bestaan dan het CCSVI topic met algemene informatie.
Iedereen kan z'n oude verslagen erin kwijt. Wanneer er geen belangstelling voor is, kan het topic gedelete worden.

Ik zag bij de informatie van de behandelcentra bij Polen staan dat indien restenose geconstateerd wordt binnen 6 weken er een nieuwe behandeling plaats vindt.
Dit is in ieder geval niet gratis, ik heb dit zelf ervaren, en nagevraagd, zij gaven toe dat dit op verschillende fora rondzingt, maar niet van hen afkomstig is.
