Hello 🙂

Apologies for writing in english, and a big thank you to the admin team for letting me step in.

Some of you may have questions and I am more than happy to answer them here or by any other means.

And I'm happy to see people give Gregory some discussion as I feel that the project will only be useful if the community gives feedback and helps improve it. Specially given the fact that there are some caveats in the current project.

For example, the machine learning algorithm that identifies which articles are relevant for patient outcomes. This algorithm was trained by me and has you know I am not a doctor nor do I have knowledge in neurology.

As for chatGPT, yes that's an ongoing side project that can connect to Gregory. What we are trying to do is use the 16,000 articles so that doctors can ask precise questions and get back the answers and the source discovered.

Currently, when we ask chatGPT a question we get an answer but no way of knowing where it was found. The current development version is already working and providing that extra information.

Here is a basic example:
Query
what is multiple sclerosis?

Response
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that affects the central nervous system. It is characterized by damage to the myelin sheath, the protective covering that surrounds nerve cells, resulting in a wide range of symptoms including physical, mental, and sometimes psychiatric problems.

Again, the obstacle here is that we do not have validation of relevant articles by the medical community. It's something we are always looking for and have even reached out to the Lisbon Faculty of Medicine.

Around February we will also be sharing a report on activities during 2022 so that everyone can be up to date with developments and our plans for 2023.

I think this is it. I'm here if you would like more details on one of these topics 🙂

Hi @brunoamaral
Awesome work! I think this is the way that science should use AI.
I am hopeful that better answers will be found with more speed. I understand the issues with citing sources excited that you are fixing this :ja:
I wish you all the best!

Hi @brunoamaral

great that you found us here!

There are not many people with professional expertise on the subject of MS around here. Maybe @Bram_MSinbeeld is willing to use his knowledge or contacts to take a closer look at this application of ChatGPT

The reason I turned to the forum today was a slightly different but comparable application of ChatGPT: diagnosing by Google Search https://twitter.com/AndrewLBeam/status/ ... 4033382401
