dank voor het verhaal van Peter. wat een indringend verhaal zeg!
deze studie werd vandaag gepubliceerd op MS web.

ik heb niet veel waardering voor het feit dat steeds weer die studies met hoge mortaliteit worden opgeduwd (door de neurologie?) terwijl in werkelijkheid die mortaliteit veel lager ligt.
of je het nou hebt over ccsvi of over HSCT, het is steeds weer hetzelfde liedje. afwijzing van nieuwe behandelschema's waarschijnlijk omdat ze MS en de MS patient voor zich willen houden.

Robbie, waarschijnlijk is dat artikel geplaatst omdat het gaat om de langer termijn effecten van de behandeling. Zo'n artikel kun je natuurlijk niet baseren op de recente behandelingen.
Wellicht dat er over een jaar of 10 een vergelijkbaar artikel door de dames en heren onderzoekers wordt gepubliceerd, op basis van ervaringen uit de periode waarin we op dit moment leven, waaruit blijkt dat de risico's zijn genomen naarmate ervaring is toegenomen.
Er staat in het artikel namelijk ook:

Ik heb zelf niks te maken met de keuze van artikelen, ik probeer alleen periodiek naar beste kunnen een abstract te vertalen als met dat gevraagd wordt. Ik weet echter wel dat de artikelkeuze niks te maken heeft met subsidies.

Dat begrijp ik wel, Anna. Maar jullie zien en weten dat dat ahsct behandelingen nu beter en minder risicovol zijn. Voor 2000 was het meer experimenteren.

But how much money savings is worth your life? I just implore people not to jump too quickly. Educate yourself and become informed. But most of all, please be safe, which should always be the absolute number #1 priority, no matter where in the world you may be transplanted. Because the ultimate cost is irreversible. . . [/QUOTE]

I don't want this story to be about the girl who died from HSCT. I want this story to be about Arpa, a girl who tried to regain control of her life and life just being the shitcan that it is.
